The Leela’s $409M IPO Backed by SAM, Sidley, and White & Case

Bangalore, June 09, 2025 —

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co and Sidley Austin advised Schloss Bangalore, owner of The Leela hotel brand, on its $409.4 million IPO on the BSE and NSE—the largest in India’s hospitality sector to date. White & Case represented a consortium of 11 book-running lead managers, including JM Financial, BofA Securities, and Morgan Stanley.

The IPO included a fresh issue worth ~$294 million and an offer for sale of ~$115.4 million, with proceeds aimed at debt reduction and corporate expansion. Backed by Brookfield, The Leela operates 13 luxury hotels across India.

SAM’s advisory involved its capital markets, general corporate, real estate, and employment teams led by partners including Nikhil Naredi, Jay Gandhi, Mrinal Kumar, and Pooja Ramchandani. Sidley’s team was led by Manoj Bhargava, while White & Case’s underwriters team was headed by Rahul Guptan and Kaya Proudian.
