Indian cross-border arbitration boutique Singularity Legal has established its second international office in under a year, with a new outpost in Singapore.
After the Mumbai-headquartered firm launched in the UAE last March, the firm said it had chosen Singapore as it is a “global dispute resolution hub.”
“Singularity’s establishment in Singapore strengthens its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its clients across borders. By leveraging Singapore’s position as the most preferred jurisdiction for arbitration and mediation, the firm aims to facilitate smoother processes using technology to drive efficiency and effectiveness,” the firm said in a statement.
The Singapore office will be spearheaded by director Rohit Bhattacharya. He specializes in advising energy and resources, construction and infrastructure, shipping and trade, and sports and entertainment companies in shareholder and joint venture disputes, operational disputes, and sovereign disputes.
Larger Indian firms like Khaitan & Co and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas have launched and grown their Singapore offices in the last few years. Meanwhile, Kochhar & Co and SNG & Partners have also had branches in the island nation for some years.
