Anagram Partners advises NIIF-managed India–Japan Fund on ₹500 crore investment in EKA Mobility

New Delhi, December 17th, 2025 —

The India–Japan Fund (IJF), managed by National Investment and Infrastructure Fund Limited (NIIF), has announced an investment of ₹500 crore in EKA Mobility, a commercial electric vehicle manufacturer.

Anagram Partners acted as legal counsel to the India–Japan Fund on the transaction. The deal team was led by Partner Simone Reis, with support from Shwetank Chaubey (Principal Associate), Anupam Nayak (Senior Associate), and Harsh Raj (Associate), working closely with NIIF’s in-house legal team.

EKA Mobility is an automotive and technology company focused on commercial electric mobility solutions and is backed by global investors Mitsui and VDL Groep. IJF is NIIF’s first bilateral fund, with a total corpus of ₹4,900 crore, jointly sponsored by the Government of India (49%) and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (51%), a policy-based financial institution wholly owned by the Government of Japan.
