On the occasion of completing two decades since its inception, Naik Naik & Co. celebrated the milestone by inaugurating a new office space situated on the first floor of B-Wing at Mittal Towers, Nariman Point, the prominent commercial hub in South Mumbai.
During the event’s inauguration on January 20, 2024, Founder & Managing Partner Ameet B. Naik highlighted that the move to the new office space is in line with the firm’s growth, emphasizing that the enhanced infrastructure facilitates improved collaboration and efficiency.
Reflecting on the 20-year journey, Naik said, “The 20-years milestone swears by firm’s transition from a niche TMT practice to a full-service practice that has expanded substantially in the corporate transaction and dispute resolution space. The ease with which we can manoeuvre both conventional and upcoming practice areas has strengthened our reputation as practice leaders.” Speaking about the new office, he added, “The state-of-the-art facilities in the new office will play a crucial role in fostering innovation and accommodating the expanding needs of our firm. The strategic relocation reflects our commitment to providing an optimal work environment for our team members that captivates innovation and productivity. We are also poised to move into a larger office space in Andheri for our joint venture with Anand and Anand.”
The celebratory gathering included members of the legal community, and representatives from the business, political, and film fraternity. The event took place on the ground floor within the building premises, with former Chief Justice of India UU Lalit and former Supreme Court Judge AM Khanwilkar and as chief guests, along with Naik’s mother, Uma Bhimrao Naik, inaugurating the new office space.
Former CJI Lalit mentioned that he shared a familial connection with Naik, both hailing from town, and praised Naik’s diligence and perseverance. Justice Khanwilkar acknowledged Naik’s father, Late Bhimrao Naik, as a role model, highlighting the family’s legacy of academics passed on to Ameet and Vineet Naik.
Senior Advocate Harish Salve conveyed his wishes through a video message from London, praising the firm’s professional approach and substantial growth. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta virtually congratulated Naik, commending him for commencing the event with his mother lighting the lamp. Senior advocates Mukul Rohatgi and Gopal Subramanian conveyed their best wishes through video messages curated for the occasion. Dr. Lalit Bhasin, President of the Society of Indian Law Firms, spoke about the firm’s growth.
Other eminent legal figures, including Advocate General of Maharashtra Dr. Birendra Saraf, Additional Solicitor General Devang Vyas, and Senior Advocates Darius Khambata and Janak Dwarkadas, also spoke on the occasion. They reminisced about their collaborations with the firm, emphasizing its core strengths in litigation and advocacy.
